The Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing at Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) is a Level 8 qualification on the UAE National Qualifications Framework, designed to prepare registered nurses for advanced practice in critical care settings. This one-year postgraduate program emphasizes the development of in-depth clinical knowledge and specialized skills required to care for patients with life-threatening conditions in intensive care units and other high-dependency environments. The curriculum integrates theoretical instruction with supervised clinical practice, enabling students to apply evidence-based approaches in advanced assessment, pharmacological management, ventilatory support, and ethical decision-making in high-acuity scenarios. Graduates of this program are equipped to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary critical care teams and play a pivotal role in enhancing patient outcomes, clinical safety, and healthcare service delivery in the UAE. The program also serves as a foundation for future academic progression at the Master’s level in advanced nursing practice or leadership.
